2008 Sunday in the
Park Concert Series
The Gettysburg Area
Recreation Department is proud to present its schedule of
Sunday concert performers for the 2008 season. Concerts
are held from 7:00pm to 8:00pm in the Recreation Park's
amphitheater on Sunday evenings during the summer. Bring
your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy an hour of great
music and family fun. Park benches are also available for
seating. Join us as we celebrate another year of the
Sunday in the Park Concert Series: great family
entertainment!

Concerts are made
possible by a grant from the Adams County Arts Council and
by patrons of the Sunday in the Park Concert Series. To
become a patron, please send donations to the Recreation
Department. In case of inclement weather, the concerts
will be held in the Gettysburg Recreation Park Assembly
Room.

Community Spring and Fall
Yard Sales held bi-annually at the Recreation Park parking
lot. Spaces are available at $10.00 per space. Proceeds
from the sale of spaces benefit recreation programs
sponsored by the Gettysburg Area Recreation Department.
Each space is 10' x 20'. Call us to reserve your space or
for more information. 334-2028.

you purchase ADMISSION TICKETS (not coupons) to area theme
parks. Tickets are valid for the 2008 season and are
available at the Recreation Park Office. Cash, Money

skateboarder Erick Attleson for a new and exciting
beginner skateboarding camp this summer. Each beginner

high school volleyball coach Tiffany Rudisill in a week

basketball with Coach Jeff Bair. During this week of skill
development participants will learn to dribble, pass and
shoot as well as teamwork and other team skill
development. Camp will also include games, guest speakers
and awards. Don't miss this opportunity to get ready for

Eisenhower
Environmental Education Camp
Grades 5 through 8
Date: June 23, 24 and 25,

National Historic Site
Camp Cost: $25
Join us for 3 days of
outdoor fun and learning! We will explore the wonder of
nature at the Eisenhower National Historic Site. Each
morning will be filled with discovery of the outdoors;
using forestry, wildlife, water and soil right there at
one of the area's most historic sites. On the last morning
we will build a birdhouse to take home. Don't miss this
unique experience. Participants will need to bring a
bagged snack and drink for each morning.
Adult Programs:
Jazzercise
Jazzercise combines the
art of jazz dance with the beat of today's hottest music
to make it fun to get in shape! This is a total body
conditioning program that develops cardiovascular fitness,
improves metabolism, increases energy, strengthens and
tones muscles and improves flexibility and balance.
Movements are choreographed to music that varies
continually to bring a sense of new energy to each class.
All fitness levels welcome.
Materials needed:
Comfortable clothing and an exercise mat. Weights are
optional.

Trip Information
Gettysburg Area
Recreation uses modern motor coaches equipped with
restrooms and air conditioning. In consideration of
others, smoking and alcoholic beverages are not permitted.
The gratuity for the bus driver is not included in the
price listed. Please note the right front seats are
reserved for the trip escort. In general, brief stops are
made at fast food restaurants when the travel time is over
2.5 hours each way. Children under the age of 18 must be
accompanied by an adult. Help us out! Register early for
bus trips! We must reach a minimum of participants one
month prior to our departure or we must cancel. Should we
have to cancel, you will receive a full refund, otherwise,
no refunds. |
